Someone will be in touch with you soon!
At SightMD New York, we understand that LASIK isn’t the right fit for everyone. However, this doesn’t mean you have to give up on the possibility of better vision. Our expert team offers a variety of alternative procedures that may be better suited to your eye health and vision goals.

Someone from our team will be in touch with you soon to discuss LASIK alternative options that are outlined below.

Why LASIK Might Not Be the Best Fit

Many factors can help decide if LASIK is right for you. These include your eye health, prescription strength, and medical history. However, this doesn’t mean you have to compromise on achieving optimal vision. SightMD New York offers many different options to help you achieve clearer vision and enjoy a more convenient life.

Vision Correction Options Beyond LASIK

Our dedicated team of eye care specialists will work closely with you to explore alternatives to LASIK. Some of the treatments we offer include:

ICL Surgery

Implantable collamer lens (ICL) surgery has become a popular alternative to LASIK. This procedure is generally recommended for patients ages 21 to 50, with moderate to severe myopia and/or astigmatism, whose vision has been stable for at least a year. The ICL procedure involves implanting an artificial lens inside the eye, surgically placed in front of the eye’s natural lens. The natural lens remains in place. The ICL lens is inserted through a self-healing incision, so stitches are unnecessary.

RLE Surgery

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) is another effective LASIK alternative, most commonly recommended for patients over the age of 45 who are experiencing presbyopia (age-related loss of near vision) or who may not be ideal candidates for laser vision correction. The procedure involves surgically removing the eye’s natural lens and replacing it with a customized artificial intraocular lens (IOL) to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. This is the same lens replacement technique used in cataract surgery that comes with a fast recovery time while also eliminating the risk of future cataract development.
