Is Cataract Surgery in Binghamton Right for You?

Over time, protein in the lenses of one or both of your eyes may start to clump up, causing your vision to appear cloudy. These are called cataracts, and they’re more common than you might think. Many cases are not serious enough for treatment, but by the age of 80, more than half of American adults either have a cataract or have had surgery to correct vision loss caused by one. The symptoms of cataracts can come on slowly, meaning that in the earlier stages, you may not even notice that your vision is decreasing. Cataracts are usually accompanied by blurry vision, loss of night vision, halos on your vision field, and other symptoms. You may not be considering cataract surgery now, but as you age, your potential to develop cataracts continues to increase. At Ophthalmic Associates, our surgeons specialize in a variety of different cataract treatment plans, with the help of leading-edge technology and surgical equipment.
